Review | Nexus Ace Buttplug
As you can imagine I have a lot of toys and it’s not unusual for me to forget what I have available to me. So while I was taking inventory so that I could write down what needed to be reviewed and which pieces needed to be thrown out I found an unopened Nexus Ace buttplug. I’m not sure how long I’ve had it and for the life of me don’t remember how the hell I got it, but there it was, sat at the bottom of a box filled with shit that hasn’t seen the light of day in years. So I decided to take a break from my review list and give it a go and yeah, I suppose the most beautiful rose can be found amongst the smelliest shit!
The Packaging:
The Nexus Ace Buttplug comes packaged in a pretty slick looking black and orange cardboard box with an image of the toy on the front a product description and a few dimensions on the back. Inside you will find the buttplug and remote housed securely in a plastic tray and underneath that you will find an instruction booklet and the magnetic usb charging cable. All in all a nicely put together package that can be used after opening for storage.
The Nexus Ace Buttplug:
The Nexus Ace Buttplug is made from a silky soft silicone that is completely waterproof and body safe. It measures 4.7 in total length, of which 4.1” is insertable and has a tapered design that has 5” girth at its widest point. This is the medium option but there are also small and large sizes available depending on your taste and experience.
There are a number of ridges leading towards the ergonomically designed flared base where you will find the power button as well as the connectors for the magnetic usb charging cable that is supplied. The remote control has a range of up to 8 meters and is made from abs plastic with its own power button and is powered by a CR2032 cell battery.
The Nexus Ace Buttplug features 6 vibrating functions, 3 increasingly powerful vibrations, 2 pulse settings and finally 1 escalating pattern. These can be controlled either by pressing the button on the plug itself or via the remote.
In Use:
Upon taking it out of the box I must admit that I was quite excited by the Nexus Ace. I love remote controlled toys because it opens up a lot of possibilities for me to mess around with people in public for my own amusement. But before it ever went up an ass I messed about with the remote and there are a few things that must be noted.
In order for the remote to work the plug must be switched on via the button on its base. A little green light will appear that indicates that the plug is on and in standby mode (no vibrations). When in standby mode the remote can turn on the vibrations and cycle through them by pressing the button. If held down for a couple of seconds the Nexus Ace will return to standby mode but is not switched off. This is important to remember as depending on the shape of your ass, how much cushion you have down there and the rigidity of the surface you are sitting on it is entirely possible to activate the plug just by sitting down. Which may be unwanted but was fucking hilarious when it happened.
In terms of how the buttplug feels – the silicone is very smooth to the touch and the majority of the plug is very firm which made insertion as easy as pie and felt great. I found it to give just the right amount of stretch before being swallowed though I must admit I was a little disappointed with the ridges. I could certainly feel them as I slid the plug in and the sensation was awesome but I personally would have preferred a few more on the shaft as while in they aren’t really noticeable due to the majority of them being on the stem.
That said it was very comfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time while topping up the water based lube every so often to make sure it remained comfortable. It did provide a relatively full feeling but then it isn’t the largest plug, suiting both beginners looking to move up in size and advanced anal players. I found the base to be very comfortable and shaped perfectly so that sitting while wearing it was comfortable, as was just going about my day to day tasks.
The vibrations are quite rumbly but for me personally I wouldn’t say earth shatteringly so but they get the job done and when inside aren’t too loud, particularly the lower vibrations. In solo play I found the remote to be useful and responsive. But the real fun with the Nexus Ace comes when using it on someone else and having control of the vibrations, especially in a public place.
This was was a whole lot of fun that both myself and the gym bunny experienced in our own ways. For me having her sat trying to give our food order to a waiter while I’m cycling through the vibrations was an utter joy to watch her struggle to focus. For her, she enjoyed the feeling of the vibrations and the challenge of trying to keep a straight face and sit still. This continued throughout the night as we went for drinks and I would randomly switch it on and watch her jump, only to try and subtly grind against it.
Being made of silicone it is very easy to clean after use with just some hot water, antibacterial soap and some sex toy cleaner before leaving to dry.
Conclusion:
I should probably take more care to check my boxes of stuff to be honest as having the Nexus Ace laying around for however long not being used is a crying shame! I’ve had a lot of fun messing around with it since its discovery and I can’t help but think of the fun times that could have been. Thankfully, I have it now.
It is well built, made from body safe materials, easy to clean and the remote works really well. Meaning that if you only intend to play with this by yourself you’re not having to reach down to change settings mid wank. But in my opinion the real joy of this toy comes with using it on someone else and being in complete control of it and them. The medium of the range retails for £60 and that is a fair price for the quality of what you are getting.
