The Packaging:

The Observator comes tightly wrapped in bubble wrap within a clear plastic bag. While this certainly keeps it protected during transport the packaging is simple and basic, you won’t be keeping it once it has been torn open.

The Observator:

The Observator is a simple anal plug/dildo that is made from shatter resistant, hypoallergenic clear glass which is non-porous and body safe. It comes in three different sizes, small, medium and large. I have the small one here and it is 16cm/6.2” in length, from tip to the start of the flared base, it has a 6cm/2.3” diameter, girth of 13cm/5” and weighs in at a very respectable 488 grams.

In Use:

Now I’m going to get this out of the way early because it needs to be said. Meo.de have pretty much covered all the bases with the advertising of the Observator by giving it both a butt plug and dildo designation but there is no fucking way this toy should be used as butt plug. The main reason for this is that the flared base is nowhere near pronounced enough for it to be remotely safe to use as a plug. I used the Observator as a dildo and this review comes from that perspective.

I am a big fan of glass, I love the simplicity of the material, the fact that it always looks so clean and the cool, smooth feel of it in my hand. Holding and looking at the Observator for the first time easily elicits those thoughts and feelings for me instantly but it is the weight of it that stands out above all, this toy is heavy and I like it!

I’m pretty experienced in getting things up my butt, however I know that there is no way that I was going to get the Observator up there without a little prep work first. While the Observator has a nicely rounded tip there just isn’t enough of a taper, especially given the fact that as a glass toy it has no give whatsoever. This may not be an issue for some users of course, I just know my ass very well.

That said, a little bit of play and loosening up with some of my favourite butt plugs and I was more than ready to enjoy the Observator. A slathering of some water based lube and even though I had fully got myself ready for it the change in material is very apparent. The coolness and hardness of the glass can be quite unforgiving. That said once it’s in there it provides a smooth buttfucking that a lot of other materials just don‘t quite replicate.

Bouncing up and down on it is a joy that easily made and kept my cock hard and with the girth and length of the Observator, smashing against the prostate was pretty simple after adjusting the angle. One of my favourite things about glass toys is the option for temperature play and while not something I tend to use with myself it is always a staple of play sessions with others. Using Ice to make it cold or warm water to heat it up allows for some delicious torture as you experiment on their body.

Being a glass product, the Observator is of course perfect for use during wet play in the bath or shower and it also makes it incredibly easy to clean after use. A splash of some antibacterial soap, your sex toy cleaner of choice and some warm water before leaving to dry and you’re all good to go again.

Conclusion:

The Observator from Meo.de is no frills, no gimmicks glass dildo and is for all intents and purposes very basic and that’s not really a bad thing. It sets out to do a job and it does it very well. It is well made and with a body safe material and my only real complaint isn’t with the product itself but the advertising of it.

This is in no way a butt plug, shouldn’t be treat or used as one because it just isn’t safe to do so. As a dildo though it is perfectly fine. I would say that it is squarely in the ballpark of intermediate and advanced anal players and not really for beginners. But it is a simple toy, with versatility that is limited on by your imagination. For 39.00 euro you could do a lot worse! Recommended.
